Friends of Belfast Botanic Gardens have been awarded the ‘President’s Trophy’ in recognition of a notable contribution to the enhancement of the environment at the the Best Kept awards on 15-10-2025.

The citation was as follows:

Friends of [Belfast] Botanic Gardens is an environmental charity which aims to promote, or assist in promoting, the conservation, maintenance and development of Northern Ireland’s only botanic garden. It hopes to advance the knowledge of botany, horticulture and horticultural legacy of Belfast Botanic Gardens, and to promote the gardens as a centre of excellence in botanical education and public amenity. The volunteers work so hard in promoting these outstanding botanical gardens which will celebrate its bi-entenary in2028. Congratulations to everyone involved.
