A large vigorous shrub from Southern Europe from France to Poland. It has creamy-white flowers in panicles in May and June, and distinctive inflated seed pods in the summer. The leaves are pinnate, usually with 5 leaflets.
Planted in Belfast Botanic gardens in recognition of Ken Powles for his unending dedication to ‘The Best Kept Awards’.
